Advantages of AMD® EPYC™ Embedded 9004 Series Processors

AMD® EPYC™ 9004 series processors use its latest “Zen4” CPU architecture committed to a highly power efficient 5nm chip production process. It offers leadership socket and per-core performance efficiency, new DDR5 ECC RDIMM memory support with advances in security such as memory encryption, plus up to 128 lanes of the latest PCI-Express 5.0 IO. Using the new SP5 socket, AMD® EPYC™ 9004 series processors can offer up to 96 cores and 192 threads per CPU, elevating the performance per node by up to 1.9X compared to previous generation CPUs.

Advantech ASMB-831 Industrial Server Motherboard

The Advantech ASMB-831 is an ATX industrial server motherboard ready for a single AMD® EPYC™ 9004 processor and 6 channel of DDR5 ECC RDIMM 4800MT/s. Advantech recommends EPYC™ CPUs with 240W maximum TDP, providing a strong balance of performance and power efficiency in a compact chassis.
Principally designed for demanding applications that focus on PCI-Express accelerators to do the heavy workloads, 7X PCI-Express 5.0 are available to high-end add-on boards such as AMD Xilinx FPGA cards, multi-NVMe SSD storage cards, and Data Processing Units (DPU). For AI/ML applications that require GPUs, up to 4X double-deck cards can be installed – the most in its class. Storage applications will benefit from the 9X SATA ports and 2x M.2 SSD slots built in. On the rear IO two 10GbE are available for high bandwidth networking, 4X more USB 3.2 Gen-1 (5Gbps) are available for peripherals versus competing products. The motherboard’s server management feature is IPMI 2.0 compliant and Redfish ready, which is built by Advantech’s in-house BMC management technology to provide highly reliable and secure remote access via GbE interface.
